In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response: Imagination can help you cope with your challenges in many ways. Some ways that it can help me is thinking of better situations for yourself. You can imagine better things will happen in your life if you are down or sad and they will come true. Always make sure you have a clear vision and imagination for yourself and you can do anything.

Summary: Today in class we worked on a poem and we started our project.

Reflection: I learned more about the poem and also connected my childhood to the poem.

Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

Write about a time you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths.
