How has completing the annotated bibliography changed or clarified your understanding of your research topic? Discuss how your sources connect to one another and how they are shaping your argument moving forward.

Prompt Response:  I think its a mixture of both. I think it changed my view by showing me different understandings of the question we picked, but also clarified because I learned so much about my topic. I think overall it helped me more because it allowed me to understand what has happened to the vents of 9//1 and I learned so much.  Summary: Today we finished up our annotated bibliography.  Reflection:  I learned how to finalize my bibliography.

Which part of the annotated bibliography (summary, reflection, or evaluation) was the most challenging for you, and why? Explain how that challenge helped you grow as a researcher and how it will help you when writing your research paper.

Prompt Response:  I think the most challenging was the evaluation part. I think this was the hardest for me because you have to explain why it is a good source. You need to research about the author and also you need to find reliable answers. So overall the evaluation part was the hardest and the easiest was the summary.  Summary: Today in class we worked on our annotated bibliography. Reflection:  I learned how to write an annotated bibliography.

As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

Prompt Response:  I wasn't expecting to find different points of view on the topic because it was such a hard topic to disagree with. I don't think they were disagreeing that the topic was wrong but they were just talking about the lead up and how one could've prevented this or even tried to make sure this didn't happen. This made me open up and see how the different views make it easier to understand everyone's beliefs.  Summary: Today in class we continued to find our 10 sources for the project. Reflection:  I found sources and learned more about my topic.

Think about your experience using GALILEO to find sources. How was this different from how you have searched for information in the past? Explain how using specific search strategies and evaluating sources impacted the quality of what you found.

Prompt Response:  I think GALILEO is a great website to find trustworthy information about most topics. I think it has helped my understanding of the topic because there are so many different links about the topic from many different years. They all have reliable information and are great to use. The other ways that include just looking it up on Google are not as good because they make it very open and not an exact answer.  Summary: Today in class we worked on our research project. Reflection:  I learned more about the topic and the different sources I will use.

Political cartoons often use exaggeration and symbolism to make a point, and they can also serve as important visual sources for analysis. What is being criticized in this image? What does this source suggest about the issue, and what does the cartoonist want the audience to question or reconsider?

Prompt Response:  In the picture to me it looks like the United States is being criticized because of uncle Sam being crushed but also the exaggeration of Donald trump's tie. I think the ice agent also show why the United States might be doing something wrong. This cartoon is a great score and provides good information.  Summary: Today on class we worked out loud answering questions. Reflection:  I learned new ideas for my project.

Think about how you have searched for information in the past compared to what you practiced today. How is creating specific search phrases different from just “Googling” a topic? Explain how this strategy will improve the quality of your research.

Prompt Response:  I think the new strategy we learned today will help elevate the overall research progress. Just googling the topic will provide you with an answer but not a deep enough understanding and correct answer. You can get way deeper into answering the question with this technique and will make the project flow better and sound more professional overall.   Summary: Today we worked on common lit.  Reflection:  I learned a new story.

Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important.

Prompt Response:  I think my question is hard to solve because there are different perspectives in this situation. One is that we killed and ended what the middle east did to our country, but some people said we did it wrong. Those two perspectives are hard to answer with a short answer. I think these questions are helpful because they make you think more and challenge yourself more.  Summary: Today we worked more on our project. Reflection:  I learned and researched more about 9/11 and terrorism.

Reflect on your past experiences with research in school. What challenges have you faced when working independently or in a group, and how did you handle them? Explain how those experiences will influence the way you approach this current research project.

Prompt Response:  I think in school there are benefits working together and by yourself. I think when you work together you can come up with more ideas and become stronger with your topic while working alone limits ideas. I have had problems in groups with people not doing there part but I think it can be easily solved. Also alone just puts more pressure on yourself but some people love it more.  Summary: Today in class we picked our groups and started working on our project. Reflection:  I learned the event I will be studying for my project.

If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

Prompt Response:  My perfect spring break would be a week in Greece. I have loved Greece from a while and never have been to Europe. I think it would be good weather around this time and very relaxing. I think Greece has some of the most unique architecture and I love it in general. I think that would be my perfect week of spring break and going to the beach in Greece would be so nice.  Summary: Today in class I did my blog post and my common lit. Reflection:  I learned a new story from common lit.

McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival. In your blog post, analyze how his desire for independence contributed to his death. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?

Prompt Response:  I think that his independence contributed to his death because he wanted to be alone and didn't want help from others. He was a peacefully man and found that peace being alone. This led to his death because he was to independence. One time I wanted to be independent because I thought I could do everything on my own but it ended up failing and I need help from others.  Summary: Today in class we finished the movie and we finished the book. Reflection:  I learned both sides of the story today.

How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.

Prompt Response:  Watching the film deepens my understanding of the book because it allows me to understand McCandless in different ways. IN the book he is different than he is in the film. One main difference between the movie and book is how McCandless is presented. In the book its in order but in the movie it jumps back and forth about his life.  Summary: Today in class we watched the film into the wild. Reflection:  I learned the difference between the movie and book.

Chris and his sister Carine McCandless had a very close relationship, even when he struggled to connect with others. Write about a relationship in your life where you feel truly understood. Explain what makes that relationship strong and how it compares to the connection between Chris and Carine in Into the Wild.

Prompt Response:  I feel like my relationship with my friend Liam is very strong. I feel we both understand each other very well and enjoy each other. I think that when something is bad to me or him the other person sees that and recognizes what they need to do. I think our relationship is strong like the McCandless siblings because they understand their needs very well.  Summary: Absent from class Reflection:  Absent from class
