Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

Prompt Response:  The most unforgettable meal I have ever had was Christmas dinner when I went to Chops. Every year we go to a fancy restaurant right before Christmas. We went to Chops 2 years ago and it was my favorite. It was really expensive and overall the food was amazing. Compared to the nice steak houses this one is by far the best ever.  Summary: Today in class we took the test on the story we read. Reflection:  I learned today how well I knew the story we read by taking and getting a 97 on the test.

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

Prompt Response:  One time I had to look about for myself was when I was out and went to a party. I had to make sure I was safe and I found a way to get home but also had to make sure my friends are safe. In terms of harmless I have avoided a group chat argument my muting it then later reading over all of the texts.  Summary: Today in class we read the last bit of the story and answered more questions.  Reflection:  I more about the book today in class.

Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

Prompt Response:   One time I have been encountered by a homeless person was when I was downtown walking. All they asked for was for some money. I told them I had no cash and they didn't bother me anymore. I think a lot of people are scared of them but they are really harmless and don't do much. Another time the same thing happened but I was driving. He came to my window and a just mouthed I have no money.  Summary: Today in class we read and answered questions from a new story.  Reflection:  Today I learned a new story about homeless people and that they aren't scary.

Write about what you are thankful for.

Prompt Response:  I am thankful for my family and friends. Everyday I wake up and my family is there, and also I am super thankful for my friends because they are always with me and super nice. Also I am thankful for soccer. The sport I have played since I was 4. Soccer is always there for me and always will be.  Summary: Today in class we worked on 15 new Vocabulary words.  Reflection:  I learned 15 new vocabulary words.

The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?

Prompt Response:  I think in general when meeting someone in life for the first time you might hear stories of the person and then meet them and either like them more or not as much. I think it's just your perspective on the person. Also its your opinion so it doesn't matter what others think. This connects a lot to the book.  Summary: In class today we took a pop quiz.  Reflection:  I learned I knew a lot from this book because I got a 100 on  the quiz.

In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

Prompt Response:  One news case that was so crazy I heard was when Spanish thieves took 1000 chairs from a restaurant. I wonder what they did with these. Also why did they steal these chairs and what did they use with them. It was so crazy because I have never heard of anything like this before.  Summary: In class we read the book " A rose for Emily". Reflection:  I learned a new book and what it was about.

Miss Emily’s house once represented pride and tradition, but over time it became a symbol of decay and isolation. Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time.

Prompt Response:  One place that holds deep memories for me was a soccer field. This holds so many memories because it was somewhere I have been almost everyday for my entire life. It brings me so much joy every time I am there. Also this is very positive for my life because I still play today.  Summary:  Today in class we worked on more vocabulary and we did an assignment.  Reflection:  I learned new vocabulary words and also "a story of Emily".

Think about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two. Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better.

Prompt Response:  I one time saw the word carte blanche in French class. I remember learning about this word in French class. I leaned what it meant and how it can be used. It helped me in this class because we were on the unit about houses.  Summary: Today in class we worked on the new vocabulary words.  Reflection:  I learned a bunch of new vocabulary words in class.

Thinking about “The Rockpile,” which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior.

Prompt Response:  I think my dad has been more strict than my mom to my discipline. Also I think they both have their moments though. Sometimes my mom can be more strict but overall my dad. I wouldn't say he is strict but he definitely is more than my mom. He has influenced me to be stronger and do more for myself.  Summary: Today in Class we worked in a group and we did a quiz together. Reflection:  I learned about the rock pile more.

Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

Prompt Response:  One thing my parents forbade me from doing was staying out to late. So they would make sure I come home at a reasonable time. Still today I don't stay out too late but later than when I was a kid. I had to come back home around 9pm but now way later.  Summary: In class we worked on the rockpile story and read the story. Reflection:  I learned about the rockpile story.

Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.

Prompt Response:  I learn new words all of the time and gain knowledge each day. When learning new words it helps a lot. I think in general when I learn a new word and understand it it helps me really understand the question asked. So what I can say is that when you learn more words the better you get from an understanding.  Summary: We worked on our 15 new vocab words. Reflection:  I learned 15 new words.
